New life in the old town 1

In Hof, a central vacancy in the heart of the old town is being revitalized.

New life moves in

The retailer Woolworth is moving directly into the newly designed Oberer Torplatz, where it will occupy around 1,200 m² of rental space on two floors next year. This means that the existing branch is moving from Lorenzstrasse. At the same time, Vogler Engineering GmbH will occupy the upper floors, providing around 950 m² of office space. The restructuring and modernization of the building in this city centre location represents a further step in the upgrading and revitalization of the city centre.

Eva Döhla, Mayor of the City of Hof: "It is a great sign for Hof that a vacancy is disappearing at this prominent location on Oberer Torplatz and that the upper floors are being put to good use at the same time. The relocation of the Woolworth store and the relocation of Vogler Engineering will revitalize the old town and expand the work and shopping opportunities here."

Building is being modernized

VK Immobilien GmbH, the owner of the property, is investing in the modernization of the building. In addition to dismantling the escalator system and completely overhauling the façade, an internal atrium will provide additional daylight and the building technology will be comprehensively renewed. A tenant is currently being sought for the remaining 300 m² of office space. The VK Immobilien Group plans to invest several million euros in the building to make it modern and fit for the future.

Frank Helm, Managing Director of VK Immobilien GmbH: "After intensive consultation with the tenants and representatives of the city of Hof, we have found a long-term, attractive use for the vacant property. We are very grateful to the city of Hof for supporting the project so intensively in recent years and that we now have the building permit in our hands after just three months of processing."

Markus Vogler, Managing Director of Vogler Engineering GmbH: " By moving to the city center, we will be able to offer our team modern and exclusive office space that is specially designed for our needs and concentrated work. The central accessibility and good local amenities are further plus points that played a key role in our decision."

Woolworth sees Hof as an addition to its nationwide network. "Woolworth has always stood for good quality at reasonable prices. Even in times of inflation, customers can rely on our wide range of products and our unbeatable value for money," says Ute Hofmann, Expansion Manager at Woolworth. "We are very pleased to have found a new space in Hof that meets our requirements in terms of location and appearance. We look forward to convincing people of our range at the new location too."
