New construction of the children's playground at Untreusee: award of contract decided

An exciting and imaginative new playground is being built at Untreusee. The building committee awarded the contract for this at its most recent meeting.

A new pirate village is to be built in the form of a shipwreck made of robinia wood to replace the old village, which had already reached the end of its service life. Parts of the previous pirate village have already been dismantled for safety reasons.

Mayor Eva Döhla: "I am very pleased that the new construction of the playground at Untreusee is going to experienced professionals. The result is a place that invites you to have fun and stimulates the imagination. The playground will also be designed to be sustainable and safe using durable materials such as robinia wood."

The children's playground at Untreusee is one of the most important and popular play areas in the city of Hof and is a central leisure facility for families. In order to maintain and enhance the attractiveness of the playground, it was essential to replace the play equipment. After a thorough examination by the city of Hof, the company Mehrtens Spielplatzbauer from Rosenheim emerged as the most economical bidder. The offer of around 180,000 euros (including construction and contingency items) was around twelve percent below the cost estimate. Mehrtens Spielplatzbauer impressed with its expertise, performance and the use of durable materials such as Robinia wood.
