New computer room at Schiller-Gymnasium

The secondary school is taking another step into the digital future.

The new computer room at Schiller-Gymnasium Hof was officially opened in March 2025. Representatives of the city, including Mayor Eva Döhla, Dr. Burkhard Baier (Head of the Schools, Youth, Social Affairs and Sport Division) and Andreas Gross (Head of the Schools Department), toured the modern facilities together with pupils from the MittelstufePlus. Director of Studies Angelika Bieß-Wunsch welcomed the guests on behalf of Headmistress Dr. Anke Emminger.

Mayor Eva Döhla: "The city of Hof has invested around 73,200 euros in the digital infrastructure of the Schiller-Gymnasium. We will continue to do so, even if this is only possible step by step. The schools are very important to us and we will continue to support them."

The investments include structural measures, primarily in the electrical sector, amounting to around 16,000 euros. In addition, 18,400 euros were spent on modern furniture and a further 38,800 euros on IT equipment. The new room has 34 student PCs, equipped with the latest hardware and software, which can be used in a variety of ways during lessons. A raised teacher's desk provides an optimal overview, and the well thought-out room concept creates a pleasant and functional learning atmosphere. Specially developed tables ensure tidy and vandal-proof cable routing.

Director of Studies Angelika Bieß-Wunsch: "This computer room is an important step for our school to meet the requirements of the curriculum as the digital school of the future." She also emphasized the close and constructive cooperation between the school and the city.

Pupils from the P-seminar "Technikscouts" showed a particularly valuable commitment. Together with their teacher Mr. Leuchsenring, they supported the professional cabling and installation of the technology. The City of Hof would like to thank everyone involved for their commitment and wishes the Schiller-Gymnasium every success with the new computer room.
