Climate protection and research project KliX3

What does climate neutrality mean on a personal level and what contributions can individuals make? These and other exciting questions will be explored by the nationwide climate protection and research project KliX3, which will make a stop in Hof on 10 October 2025. The aim of the evening event is to recruit participants for the nationwide participatory campaign for a climate-neutral life.

Regardless of whether you are just starting out or already consider yourself a climate protection pro - everyone can take part in KliX³. KliX3 centres on the creation of a nationwide CO2 calculator panel. Participants draw up their annual carbon footprint using the Federal Environment Agency's CO2 calculator. Using an online toolbox, everyone can create their own personal climate plan. In addition, KliX³ participants receive many practical tips in the KliX3 toolbox and in other offers. This includes a CO2 calculator consultation, a guide "Ways to a climate-neutral life" and an in-depth three-part online course that offers space for networking and exchanging experiences. All KliX³ programmes are free of charge.

A clear view through the maze of climate protection measures

The central theme of KliX3 is the "Triad for the Climate" as a motivational booster for effective climate action, consisting of the elements of creating a carbon footprint, reducing the footprint and increasing the handprint. KliX³ aims to provide orientation in the jungle of climate protection measures and make the "big points" in climate protection visible.
The evening event in Hof will take place from 19:00 to 21:00 in the Technical Town Hall, Karolinenstraße 17. Participation is free of charge. Please register via the website: klix3.de/deutschlandticket-tour/ 
On the same day from 15:00 to 17:00, the KliX³ project will also be represented with an information stand in the Hof City Library, Wörthstraße 18.

The KliX³ Germany Ticket Tour

As a participatory campaign and real-life laboratory, KliX³ has so far accompanied over 1,400 people on their way to a climate-neutral life by 2030. From mid-September to mid-October 2025, the KliX³ team will be touring with the Germany Ticket from Dessau in the east to Aachen in the west and from Bremen in the north to Constance in the south. Under the motto "Next stop: Your Big Point!", 30 large and small cities will be visited within 30 days. The aim is to recruit 30 x 30 additional participants throughout Germany for this unique community and research project.

Who is behind KliX³?

KliX³ is being realised by 3 fürs Klima e. V. from Dessau and KlimAktiv gGmbH from Tübingen. 3 fürs Klima is a non-profit organisation with the aim of creating and disseminating awareness and knowledge about effective individual options for climate action in accordance with the Paris Climate Agreement. In 2021, the association attracted nationwide attention and saved over 20,000 tonnes of CO2 with its climate bet. KlimAktiv gemeinnützige Gesellschaft zur Förderung des Klimaschutzes mbH develops software for carbon accounting for companies, municipalities and other organisations and enables its partners to actively protect the climate by raising awareness of their own carbon footprint. The project is subsidised by the National Climate Protection Initiative with funds from the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy.
