Jean-Paul-Gymnasium - Conversion of biology/chemistry practice room

The room is to be renovated and extended so that the pupils can once again be taught according to current requirements.

The biology/chemistry room on the second floor of the extension to the Jean-Paul-Gymnasium is still in the condition it was in when the new part of the building was constructed in 1982. The room no longer meets the requirements for modern teaching. It is far too small, and a safety inspection revealed that the existing walkways in the room are too narrow. The flooring also no longer meets current requirements. The technical equipment also dates back to 1982 and is considered outdated. The room is therefore to be renovated and extended in order to be able to teach pupils in accordance with current requirements. In future, up to 27 pupils are to be accommodated in the renovated room.

To this end, the room will be gutted from the ground up. The partition wall to the corridor and the preparation room will be moved to create more space. A new coat of paint, a special rubber floor covering and a new acoustic ceiling are also part of the refurbishment. The dilapidated darkening system is to be replaced, as is the lighting. Last but not least, the furnishings will be adapted to the current state of the art. Start of construction: Spring 2022 End of construction: Winter 2022 Project management City of Hof: Mr. Sommer
