Jahnstraße to be opened earlier
The Bayreuth State Building Authority reports:
Construction work on Jahnstraße: Traffic open two weeks earlier than planned
The construction work on Jahnstraße (Bundesstraße 2) in Hof has progressed so far that the full road closure can be lifted two weeks earlier than planned. The Bayreuth State Building Authority will reopen the road to traffic on Friday, 22 August 2025.
As part of the construction work, not only the carriageway but also the parking lanes and pavements were renewed on behalf of the city of Hof. Barrier-free guidance systems were added at the carriageway crossings and a new cycle path was created on both sides of the pavement. Work was carried out on numerous supply and disposal lines on behalf of Stadtwerke Hof. In addition, electricity and fibre optic cables were laid and the traffic lights and street lighting were renewed. The work was necessary because the road damage showed that the road surface was no longer designed for the current volume of traffic.
Thanks to a smooth construction process, the project was completed two weeks earlier than planned. After a construction period of around five months, the road will be reopened to traffic on Friday, 22 August 2025, around midday. Until then, road markings, equipment and cleaning work will be carried out. In the coming week, the city of Hof will also be carrying out sewer renovation work. However, this will only cause minor traffic restrictions.
The Bayreuth State Building Authority would like to thank all those involved in the project for the speedy construction work as well as road users and residents for their understanding during the construction period.
