Ingrid and Reiner Grube celebrate 60 years of marriage

The couple have lived in Hof since 1979, having previously lived in Plauen. Their story began in the early 1960s in Vogtland, where they met while dancing - a classic way of getting to know each other at the time.
After getting married, they started a family and had two children. However, the road to leaving the former GDR was rocky and challenging. After a long wait, their application to leave the country was finally approved. Their destination was Hof, as Ingrid Grube's eldest sister and her mother were already living there. With a great deal of patience and determination, they managed to gain their freedom and have remained loyal to the town ever since their arrival in Hof.
They spent their special wedding anniversary at home. The coffee was accompanied by homemade cake with fresh strawberries and blueberries. Mayor Eva Döhla was invited and conveyed the warm congratulations of the city of Hof. Mr Grube told some anecdotes from his working life, he was employed by the Sommer company for many years.
We wish him many more happy years!
