Ice skating season begins on October 26, 2024
Just in time for the start of the 2024 autumn vacations, the ice pond will kick off the winter season on October 26, 2024 at 2 p.m. and everyone is once again invited to lace up their skates and do their laps on the blades. "Preparations are in full swing and we are delighted to be able to start the season at the end of October again this year," says Dr. Burkhard Baier, Head of Schools, Youth, Social Affairs and Sport.
Opening hours
The ice pond is open again from Tuesday to Sunday. The opening hours have changed slightly.
At weekends, the ice pond is available as usual: Fridays and Saturdays from 2:00 to 7:30 pm and Sundays from 11:00 to 4:00 pm. During the week there are public skating times on Wednesdays - from 13:00 to 15:00 the senior skating takes place and from 16:00 to 18:30 the public skating takes place. From Tuesday to Thursday, the ice pond is reserved for school sports in the mornings by prior arrangement.
There will be a highlight right at the start of the season: the first ice disco will take place on Friday, November 8, 2024. DJ Chris Mü will heat up the crowd from 18:00 to 22:00 so that the icy temperatures are quickly forgotten. The ice disco will take place monthly again - dates to follow.
Admission prices and tickets
Adults pay €5 for a one-way ticket, reduced tickets cost €2.50. The reduced rental fee for skates is €3.50, adults pay €6. There is also a flexible family ticket: two adults and two children can visit the ice pond for €13. Admission for each additional child in connection with the family ticket is €1.50.
There will also be a small gastronomic offer again this year. "We are delighted that we have been able to secure a caterer again for this season, who will be offering hot and cold drinks as well as crêpes and small snacks. This way, our visitors can fortify themselves in between and round off their trip to the ice pond," says Dr. Baier.
