Hofer Land presents itself at the Nuremberg Leisure Fair

The Hofer Land region had the opportunity to present itself to visitors at the VGN stand.

Since the beginning of the year, the city and district of Hof have been part of the Greater Nuremberg Transport Association (VGN), in which a uniform tariff and a common timetable apply. Since then, a single ticket can be used on all lines belonging to the VGN, whether bus or train.

Last week, the VGN was one of 450 exhibitors at the leisure trade fair in Nuremberg to showcase the wide range of tourism opportunities offered by the merger of different regions in the VGN. As part of this, the Hofer Land region was also able to present itself for a whole day in Nuremberg. Representing the city and district of Hof, the Hofer Land project team provided information about the region in general, the cultural, historical and culinary features of the region in particular and excursion destinations that make a trip to Hofer Land worthwhile.

Tours through Hofer Land

Three tour suggestions were drawn up in advance and distributed to interested visitors. The tours include

  • a city tour with recommendations such as the Hofer Wärschtlamänner, the Bürgerpark am Theresienstein, the Skateplatz or the Theater Hof.
  • a nature tour with excursion destinations such as the Waldstein, the Frankenwaldsee lake in Lichtenberg, the Höllental valley or the Bad Steben thermal baths, including a range of places to stop for refreshments.
  • a bike tour from the Saale spring in Zell in the Fichtelgebirge, to the "Erika Fuchs Haus" comic museum, the Fernwehpark and the Hof Untreusee lake.

"With these three tours, we would like to extend an invitation to get to know a few highlights of the Hofer Land region as part of a day or weekend visit. The VGN offers the ideal conditions for getting to the Hofer Land region, taking a look around, discovering beautiful spots and our special features and, ideally, of course, coming back," says Franziska Sell from the Hofer Land project team.

The tours can also be found online on the Hofer Land website at https://www.hofer-land.de/touren/
