General renovation of stage technology at Theater Hof

The aim is to create economically and ecologically sustainable stage technology.

The Hof Theater was rebuilt in Kulmbacher Straße between 1991 and 1994. Externally, the building still makes a good impression. However, all of the technical equipment dates back to the time of construction and has therefore been in operation for some time. Some of the equipment (e.g. lighting) was already in use in the old building on Schützenstrasse and is therefore considered to be even older.

The frequency of breakdowns has increased recently. Repairs are often hardly possible or only possible with considerable effort because spare parts are no longer available. Certain system components will no longer receive an operating permit at the next inspection.

The most necessary work in this general refurbishment concerns the technical systems of the - upper and lower machinery - technology in the dimmer room - loudspeakers and spotlights in the stage area - darkening in the auditorium - control of the heating/ventilation/cooling systems

The aim of the general refurbishment is therefore to create economically and ecologically sustainable stage technology, including the necessary construction measures.

In order to be able to continue to offer audiences high-quality performances of a multi-genre theater (plays, operas/operettas, musicals, ballets and concerts) during the renovation measures, a so-called "interim venue" was built in front of the existing building for the above-mentioned performances.
