Fifty-Fifty-Taxi will continue thanks to sponsors

The project will restart on March 15, 2025.

The city of Hof is continuing the successful Fifty-Fifty Taxi project in 2025. This was made possible by generous sponsorship contributions from regional companies and organizations totalling 8,200 euros. The initiative is aimed specifically at teenagers and young adults and enables them to travel home by cab at a reduced rate between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. on weekends and before public holidays. The target group are young people living in Hof who start and finish their journey in the city.

Eva Döhla, Lord Mayor: "This project is a successful example of joint social commitment between the city administration and the regional economy. My heartfelt thanks go to all those involved who are actively committed to the safety of our young people."

The sponsors are: ProHof e.V., Viessmann Group, Schäfer Büromöbel GmbH, Motor Nützel GmbH, Haßmann Haustechnik KG, WILO SE and Izmir Market. The aim of the project is to improve road safety and promote Hof's nightlife and local gastronomy. The discounted cab rides are intended to prevent dangerous driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs as well as risky hitchhiking. Families are relieved as parents no longer have to drive their children themselves at night.

The Fifty-Fifty-Taxi project, which has already been successful in recent years and met with great interest, is now being implemented again thanks to the financial support of the companies. The city of Hof would like to thank all the sponsors involved and is highlighting their commitment in its flyers and on social media.

What is new is that the discounted cab rides are now only valid for young people living in the Hof city area and only within the city limits. The offer is still valid at weekends (Friday and Saturday) and on the evening before public holidays from 9:00 pm to 5:00 am. Half the fare is reimbursed (maximum 20 euros).
