City of Hof congratulates Waltraut Kießling on her 95th birthday

The sprightly jubilarian still enjoys working in her garden.

Waltraut Kießling celebrated her 95th birthday in October. Mayor Eva Döhla visited the jubilarian in person to convey the city of Hof's congratulations.

Originally from Schwarzenbach an der Saale, Waltraut Kießling can look back on a fulfilled life. After completing her commercial apprenticeship, she decided to train as a pediatric nurse in Nuremberg, which she successfully completed at the age of 23. In the 1960s, she worked at the Herdegenheim in Hof and at the Kulmbach and Hof hospitals, among others.

Despite her advanced age, Kießling is still very sprightly. She regularly attends the Bible study group in her parish and enjoys working in the garden. On her special anniversary, she set the coffee table herself and was delighted to receive a visit from the Lord Mayor and her family. She now has three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
