Bridge Mittlerer Anger

Dismantling begins this week

Work to dismantle the Angerbrücke bridge begins this week. It starts with the so-called site clearance, which includes cutting back the surrounding bushes, mowing the grass and other preparatory measures in the immediate vicinity of the bridge. The necessary traffic facilities have been set up as of today and access to the bridge is now closed.

In the second week of September, the actual construction site set-up will begin with construction containers, a site office, excavators and the first drilling equipment. The demolition work will initially begin on the Mühldamm side. A special process ensures that the work is carried out in an environmentally friendly manner: Pipes are laid into the Saale river, over which slabs are laid. This allows water and fish to pass unhindered, while the removed material falls onto the slabs and is then collected and transported away by excavators.

The first construction phase will take around five weeks. After that, work will shift to the side of the factory line and the other side of the bridge will be demolished in the same way. During the winter months, the construction site will take a break due to the weather.

We would like to point out that there may be temporary noise disturbances during the work and ask all residents for their understanding.
