The winners of the JugendKunstTriennale 2024
On Saturday, June 8, there was a palpable sense of excitement in the air at the Freiheitshalle in Hof. The city of Hof had invited guests to the award ceremony and exhibition opening of the JugendKunstTriennale, which it will host in 2024. The JugendKunstTriennale is the most important cultural project of the Saxon-Bavarian network of cities and takes place every three years.
Artists between the ages of 14 and 25 responded to the call for entries and submitted their works back in February. At the beginning of March, a six-member jury selected 128 works from the 438 submissions from Bayreuth, Chemnitz, Hof, Plauen, Marktredwitz and Zwickau, which will now be presented in the foyers of the Freiheitshalle until July 5.
The winners were announced and honored at the exhibition opening in the presence of representatives from the six cities and a large number of the artists. Jury spokesman Bernd Rössler, painter and lecturer at the technical college for product design in Selb, presented the endowed prizes together with the Mayor of Hof, Eva Döhla. Head of the Cultural Office Peter Nürmberger, who curated the exhibition together with Anja Schmidt and Sigena Süßmann, hosted the award ceremony.
