Adventure Golf at Hofer Untreusee

An adventure golf course at Untreusee. Founded in 2008 by Marco Feldrapp and Hannes Scholz, the company specializes in the sale of tabletop games and collectible cards and will now transform the former mini-golf course. The innovative course not only offers a modern interpretation of classic minigolf, but also combines regional charm with imaginative design elements. Construction will begin on September 16, 2024, with the opening planned for spring 2025.
The adventure golf course will comprise 18 holes on an area of 2,500 m². Instead of traditional concrete fairways, the playing surface will be made of artificial turf, which will not only enable barrier-free use, but will also protect the environment as no surfaces will be sealed. The courses are longer than conventional mini golf and can be walked on, which makes for a more sociable playing experience.
The developers found inspiration for the course in the region's attractions, such as the Theresienstein and the Untreusee itself. "The rides not only pick up on local themes, but also offer fantasy and hobby references that are reminiscent of Games Island's core competencies. This special mix of local reference and playful adventure is intended to appeal to families, friends, tourists, students as well as the young at heart and pensioners," says Hannes Scholz. The operators are hoping for around 30,000 visitors a year.
"This is the biggest investment at Untreusee since it was built over 40 years ago. It represents another milestone for the recreational value in Hof. Games Island is investing in the local quality of life with a fresh entrepreneurial spirit. I am sure that the facility will be an enrichment for Hof residents and guests. I am also pleased to see how Games Island's commitment to the local area is evident here," says Mayor Eva Döhla.
The project is being implemented by the experienced Abenteuer Golfprojekt GmbH from Stegaurach, which has already realized over 60 similar projects throughout Germany. In addition to the 18 golf courses, the facility will also include a children's playground to offer families with children additional added value. The site manager is Sami Amr, a long-time Games Island employee.
