City of Hof changes parking fee regulations

At its most recent meeting, the city council approved changes to the parking fee regulations.

In the course of revising the budget consolidation concept, parking fees must also be considered and reassessed. The city council therefore decided to make changes to the parking fee regulations at its most recent meeting.

The parking duration at parking ticket machines will be extended by one hour from Monday to Friday and by two hours on Saturdays. The specific parking times at the theater and the motorhome parking area will remain unchanged. In addition, the bread roll button in Ludwigstraße and Poststraße, which allows short free purchases, will be reduced to a maximum duration of ten minutes.

In future, a charge of €0.30 per twelve minutes or part thereof will be levied in the city center area and at the Theaterparkplatz parking lot, while a charge of €0.20 will apply outside the core area. The long-term rate for employees will be adjusted and will be €1.00 for up to five hours and €2.00 for more than five hours.

The changes will apply from September 1, 2024 and are expected to lead to additional revenue of €175,000.

From January 1, 2025, parking fees for motorhomes will be subject to VAT. The costs will therefore also be adjusted here. At the motorhome parking lot at Untreusee, parking from 0:00 to 24:00 currently costs €7.50, from January 1, 2025 it will be €9.00. The motorhome parking fees at the Oberer Anger parking lot will be increased from €5.00 to €6.00.

The parking fees will be charged inclusive of any statutory sales tax.
