Congratulations from the city of Hof to Mr. and Mrs. Scholtissek

Peter and Hildegard Scholtissek have been married for 65 years and can look back on a happy and eventful marriage. Mayor Angela Bier visited the couple in person and conveyed the congratulations of the city of Hof.

The couple met 70 years ago while dancing at the Theresienstein. They used to meet there on Sundays for tea dances and spent pleasant evenings on the dance floor. Mr. Scholtissek was a bus driver for Stadtwerke Hof for 33 years, while his wife ran a grocery store in Klosterstraße. After they retired, they joined the Förmitzspeicher sailing club. At first, Mr. Scholtissek built himself a dinghy. Later, they even bought a trimaran, with which they spent many wonderful vacations in Croatia for 17 years.
