Passenger transport
Due to an EU-wide new regulation, drivers in commercial works, goods or passenger transport must, in addition to their driver's license, provide proof of qualification in accordance with the so-called Professional Driver Qualification Act (BKrFQG) in order to work in these areas on a self-employed or dependent basis - even on a temporary basis. The teaching of activity-related skills and knowledge as part of the basic qualification to new entrants or the further training of active driving personnel is intended to achieve positive effects for road safety, a defensive driving style and rational fuel consumption.
For bus drivers with vehicles with more than eight passenger seats (passenger transport with classes D1, D1E, D, DE) the regulations already came into force on 10.09.2008.
