The regional airport Hof-Plauen fulfills an important function for the north-eastern part of Upper Franconia as well as for neighbouring Saxony and Thuringia. Since the inner-German border ceased to exist, this airport has found itself right in the centre of Germany. It is easy to reach from motorway A9 and federal road B2. (city-map)
Due to the state-of-the-art equipment including a fully fledged instrument landing system, it is possible to land at Hof Airport even in bad weather.
Europe-wide business and taxi flights can be conducted on request. The airport is equipped with an airplane hangar, a travel agency, a car rental service, an aero-medical center as well as the aero club Hof. Pilots can store their planes in the hangar; also, there are sufficient cost-free parking spots for the passengers.
