Like every region in Upper Franconia, Hof has its very own Bratwürste, of course.
They have a very long tradition and can absolutely not be missing from a party or a barbecue! The Hofer Bratwürste are fine sausages. They are comparatively long and thin and are of very lean quality. You can buy them raw and at about 100 g to barbecue them yourself or you can get them freshly grilled. The Hofer Bratwürste are a raw, finely chopped and uncured Bratwurst specialty mainly made of lean pork and a little beef. They are seasoned with salt, pepper, nutmeg and lemon peel.
The exact recipe is a company secret – every butcher’s is a little different.
Bratwürste traditionally come in pairs or in threes with Sauerkraut and bread or in a bread roll to go. You can also put medium hot mustard on them and drink a Landbier with them.
