Twin town relationships Hof - Villeneuve-la-Garenne
In 1980 Hof started another twin town relationship, this time with Villeneuve-la-Garenne in France. The town – situated in the northeast of Paris – has about 40 000 citizens. Soon a strong relationship between the two municipalities developed – not least of all due to the interest in the respective foreign language. The number of people from Hof who took one or more trips to Villeneuve is immensely great.
Out of all the permanent contacts between the two towns one has to be emphasized: since the beginning of the relationship, the swimming club Hof has had contacts that include two-way visits in alternating years for an athletic purpose, but even more to deepen the friendship.

Mayor Roger Prevot, who was involved in the reconciliation between the French and the German after the war, played an important role in making the relationship this strong. Mayor Boulanger has been continuing his work for years now.
