Security measures at the Hof Volksfest 2025

The city of Hof has developed a comprehensive security concept together with the police, fire brigade, security service and rescue organisations.

The Hof Volksfest has always been a place to meet, enjoy life and celebrate together - for families, clubs, visitors from the region and beyond. To ensure that all guests can once again experience carefree and enjoyable hours in 2025, the city of Hof has developed a comprehensive security concept in advance together with the police, fire brigade, security service, rescue organisations and many other parties involved. The city of Hof asks all visitors to plan their journey to the Volksfest in good time:

  • Car parks are again available in the immediate vicinity of the Volksfestplatz in Schützenweg for a small fee.
  • Disabled parking spaces are located in Kulmbacher Straße (main access road).
  • Travelling by Volksfest bus is convenient and inexpensive - timetables and bus stops can be found atwww.hofer-volksfest.de .
  • Travelling by train is also a good option: Neuhof station is right next to the festival grounds. If you park at the main station or at the large car park in Plauener Straße, for example, you can travel from there conveniently by train.
  • Bag checks - with consideration and a sense of proportion

As in previous years, bag checks will be carried out on the festival grounds and in the marquee. There will be no general admission checks, but individual bags may be checked several times - also for security reasons. The city of Hof asks you to leave larger bags at home if possible and draws your attention to the following regulations:

  • Prohibited and confiscated are: Knives, weapons of all kinds, soft-air weapons, means of defence (e.g. pepper spray) and alcoholic drinks in glass bottles.
  • Anyone carrying such items must expect to be confiscated by security staff.

These measures are in place to protect all guests. The City of Hof asks for your understanding and support in implementing these measures.

Consistent action for rule violations

Coexistence at the Volksfest is based on mutual respect. However, anyone who disrupts safety or peaceful coexistence must expect consequences:

  • Expulsions and bans from the premises are consistently issued in the event of misbehaviour.
  • Criminal offences will be reported to the police.
  • Only authorised festival businesses are permitted to sell goods or services. Illegal sales will result in immediate expulsion from the site.

Fireworks and road safety

Special traffic regulations apply on the two fireworks days - Saturday 26 July and Friday 1 August:

  • Ernst-Reuter-Straße and Dr.-Enders-Straße will be closed at short notice.
  • Spectators are requested to keep the designated safety areas clear.
  • Drone flights are not permitted in the safety area during the fireworks.
  • Stopping is prohibited in Dr.-Enders-Straße on these days - offences can lead to vehicle damage and will be punished accordingly.

Vehicle barriers to protect the site

New this year: The city of Hof has procured vehicle-supported barriers to protect the grounds even better against possible approaching vehicles. These barriers are installed at the main entrances to the Volksfestplatz and make a significant contribution to the safety of all visitors.
