Earned the German Sports Badge 330 times

The city of Hof has once again honored numerous athletes from schools and clubs.

Every year, the sports badge competition in Hof shows anew that sport unites and motivates. Numerous athletes from schools and clubs took up the challenge and completed the German Sports Badge. A total of 330 successful graduates were honored at the award ceremony.

Mayor Eva Döhla: "The German Sports Badge is a special award because it requires a wide range of skills. Coordination, strength, endurance and speed are put to the test. Personal success is an incentive, while training together offers the opportunity to support and develop each other."

Since the sports badge was introduced in Hof in 1985, it has been taken almost 21,500 times - an impressive figure that underlines the great importance of sport for the city. However, the competition would not be possible without the support of many dedicated people. The mayor thanked in particular the schools and clubs, the volunteer examiners and Sparkasse Hochfranken, which makes the prize money for the participants possible.

Special thanks also went to Ms. Gebhardt from the LG Hof, who ensured the implementation for club athletes with her commitment, as well as Mr. Rödel (BLSV district chairman), Mr. Zeh (President of the Hof Sports Association) and Mr. Ströhla (Working Group Schools and Sport), who are committed to promoting sport in Hof.
